What does Bennett/Porter do?
Headquartered in the Pacific Northwest since 1988, Bennett/Porter & Associates implements and supports business software and IT services for small and midsize companies across the country. We handle Acumatica Cloud ERP and Sage 100 for accounting and operations, Sage 100 cloud hosting, People Savvy HCM for payroll and HR, and managed IT services through BP/IT.
Where is Bennett/Porter located and what areas do you serve?
Bennett/Porter is a Portland-area company serving businesses throughout the Pacific Northwest and across the country. From our office at 12559 SW 69th Avenue in Tigard, Oregon, we work with clients across the Portland metro, including Beaverton, Lake Oswego, Hillsboro, Tualatin, Newberg, and Clackamas, and all along the I-5 corridor from Eugene to Seattle. Near or far, our award-winning reputation precedes us because of our people inspired approach to finding solutions.
Do you provide managed IT services in the Portland area?
Yes. BP/IT provides managed IT services to small and midsize businesses throughout the Portland metro area, including Tigard, Beaverton, Tualatin, Lake Oswego, Hillsboro, and Newberg. Services include proactive monitoring, cybersecurity, help desk support, and technology planning. Because our ERP, hosting, and payroll teams work in the same building, a client running several Bennett/Porter systems calls one company for all of them.
How do I know when my business has outgrown QuickBooks?
Common signals are inventory counts that no longer reconcile, a month-end close that takes more than a week, critical processes living in spreadsheets outside the accounting system, and entering the same data into two systems. If you are running multiple entities or preparing for an audit or a funding round, QuickBooks usually becomes the constraint. We help companies evaluate whether Sage 100 or Acumatica Cloud ERP is the right next step.
What is the difference between Sage 100 and Acumatica?
Sage 100 suits small to midsize businesses with relatively stable transaction volumes where core accounting or distribution is the priority. You can run it on-premise or, even better, in our SOC 2 certified cloud-hosted environment. Cloud hosting means your business is always online and secure. Acumatica Cloud ERP suits companies growing quickly or needing integrated distribution, manufacturing, retail, or eCommerce alongside accounting. We implement both, so our recommendation depends on your operations rather than on which product we carry.
Can you handle Oregon and Washington payroll compliance?
Yes. People Savvy HCM, powered by UKG Ready, handles Paid Leave Oregon, the Oregon statewide transit tax, Oregon's three-tier regional minimum wage, and Washington Cares and Paid Family and Medical Leave. Because we are based in Oregon, we track these rules as they change rather than treating them as edge cases.
Is Bennett/Porter certified by Sage and Acumatica?
Yes. Acumatica named Bennett/Porter its 2025 Retail & eCommerce VAR of the Year. Sage named us a Certified Hosting Partner in March 2024, one of a small number in the United States, and our Sage 100 hosting environment is SOC 2 certified.
